Current mood:adventurous

Hello, Hello!

Last night I did my first review of upcoming artists on Delta Radio…ladies and gents let’s take a walk on the wild side…

Miles Winter Roberts

My favourite artist at the moment. Miles emulates passion, raw emotions and that overall good factor that is so infectious that you just have to swing your hips and get into that whole Spanish vibe. His website is the coolest: http://www.mileswinterroberts.com and ladies, his voice is so sexy, it runs through your veins begging you for more, more, more – no, I’m not joking!!! Gents, not leaving you out here, but you should be jealous, impressed and in awe of this incredible and captivating performer. Originally raised in Ibiza and spent years in Hamburg, Eastern Europe and the Rivieras, but now actually a Guildford guy. Having performed for George Clooney on his yacht, at Ronnie Scotts, The Under Score: NYC and a zillion other hotspots.

So where can you see Miles in action? Tomorrow night (8th August, from 8pm onwards) at The Compasses Inn in Gomshall, Surrey, UK. http://www.thecompassesinn.co.uk/livemusic.html.

I’ll be there after my radio interview with Andy Vale, to shake my shimmy, so get your skates on, you’ll be breathless with all the excitement.

Rietta Austin

Next up is my Aussie-lischious friend, Rietta. I mentioned her in my previous email out and highly recommend you catch her live. The most phenomenal voice that would most probably wipe the stage that Leona Lewis stands on. Oh yes, Rietta is that good. Check out http://www.riettaaustin.com for more, more, more…

Jeremy Christopher

If I was presenting singer-songwriter of the year, I’d fight for Jeremy to win hands down. I’m so impressed with his stuff, that I managed to convince him to write with me…watch this space, you heard all about him here. Have a listen at http://www.myspace.com/jeremychristophermusic, gorgeous music touching your soul.

Kelly Pepper

This excellent pop act has a fab single pricking up ears called ‘Miracle Man’…go to http://www.myspace.com/pepperedmusic – she’s hot, baby!

Liam Madison

You will be drawn into his performance without thinking about it. Liam’s from up north and will go anywhere and everywhere to play. He is passionate, writes fantastics pop songs, with a bit of a rock edge. Wanna hear more? http://www.myspace.com/liammadison!

Sherry Davis

A couple of week’s ago whilst hosting the 15 Minute Club, I was soundchecking and not having seen or heard Sherry before, I was sold from the first notes – and that was just the sound check…go to http://www.myspace.com/sherrysherrydavis and find out why!

So, besides my own music career, I’m part of the 15 Minute Club: http://www.myspace.com/15minuteclub where we showcase original music every Sunday evening. So far in London we have two venues, The Living Room in Islington and Prohibition Bar and Restaurant in St Katherine’s Dock. It’s run by Rae Hall (a phenomenal dance act just signed to Defected Records and working with Sandy Riviera – http://www.myspace.com/raegunhq) and Laurence Hobbs (an amazing songwriter and producer that runs Major Music and Blue Room Productions – http://www.myspace.com/blueroommusicltd). As we are all performers, we also get in on the scene and play at these nights and then at the end we get all the musicians booked that night to have a bit of a jam and fun. The nights always rock, so you should c’mon on down…

Keith Woodhouse seemd to like what I did (even though I nattered on forever!) so I’ll be back on 10th September to feature some new upcoming artists on Delta Radio.

Tomorrow, tomorrow…

I’ll be on Andy Vale’s Perfumed Garden Gnome Show on GU2 Radio 1350AM from 7:00-10:00pm (Friday, 8th August 2008). It’s ladies night, so Andy will be featuring Susie Clarke, Miss Earth National Finalist Gemma Bowles and I. To contact the studio and shake your pom-poms of support call up 01483 681350 or email: studio@gu2.co.uk. If you’re not around catch the show later from http://www.gu2.co.uk where you can listen back – Andy posts all his past recordings there. And if you haven’t listened to his show yet, get on it because he is going the be the world’s next big DJ, world domination and all that, aha oh yeah!!!

HerNews

OMG, okay I’ve been nominated as Best Female Solo Artist for the Guildford Brits Awards! Winners are announced on 3rd September at Fahrenheit 55, where the prestigious event will be held…shaking my pom-poms, yeeehaaa! I can’t wait…

Finally…

Last night I had the honour of watching Peter Lemarr from The Drifters perform at Fahrenheit 55. Byron Johnston, promotes the Strangers on a Train nights (showcasing original music). He is also one of the most brilliant flamenco/classical style guitarists to hit the planet, and I’m also writing with him (check him out at http://www.myspace.com/themusicofbyron). Anyway, not digressing too much, Peter was just ‘WOW’ and he asked if anyone in the audience could do a number he wasn’t 100% on, so I stepped up to the opportunity of singing Me and ‘Mr’ Jones, sharing the stage, harmonies and a wonderful sensation playing with an artist that I’m inspired by. It’s these moments that mean so very much.

So ladies and gents, tell your friends, family and kittens to check out Lisa Theunissen and tell HerStory, this is just the beginning and you’re right here with me.

Ciao for now…more, more, more later
