How are you keeping? Hope you are safe and sound?
It’s been one whirlwind start of the year for me…
As you know my career is split into two, as; singer-songwriter and performing artist. With that comes an unending passion of releasing music whilst balancing my livelihood playing songs by the greats. It is quite a heavy schedule, and you know how much I love working non-stop too. So here’s what I’ve been up to since we last spoke.
Daily performances from December to February put a sparkle in my eyes, joy in my heels and in the merriest of moods from overlooking the ocean under the stars playing my heart out Rockfish at Jumeirah Al Naseem, Culinara at One Zaabeel, Le Jardin at Raffles The Palm and Jewel of the Creek, Marriott Marquis filling their venues with jolly hearty songs and a whole lotta jingle. To ringing in 2026 at Mandarin Oriental performing at the VIP Club Lounge was so spectacular and beautiful.
I also manage a few artists and hotels, so my diary was choco-block during this time!
The end of my season was performing on Valentine’s Day for a very special couple; Chelsea’s Footballer, Wesley Fofana and his partner, at the iconic Atlantis The Palm. I adored indulging in two outfits perched on a stage on the beach, with the oecan as my backdrop and playing a baby grand singing the greatest love songs of all time. Pure bliss :> my favourite kinda show!
With every year my love for building all these relationships, since first moving to the UAE in 2011, becomes greater. Each of you make a difference in my life with how much you care about artists and the industry. This goes for all the clients I have had the pleasure of working with across the globe. I am very blessed doing what I love for a living and don’t ever take it for granted. Know I say this often, but it’s so very true.
I know how tirelessly the food and beverage teams, event managers and sound companies are working during this time of year, for which there’s little appreciation. So to all the teams behind the scenes fulfilling 1111 nonstop requests with a smile on their dials and on their feet all day – thank you from the bottom of my heart ‘n heels for providing a platform for me to shine and share my art, plus the Queen treatment is just a cherry on top. None of it is unnoticed and none of this would be magic without you. You are pure joy.
It’d been two years of intense work and I finally took a holiday early February, back home in South Africa where I hadn’t seen my family and friends for over six years.
Little did I know what would unfold halfway through my break; my home away from home [Dubai, UAE] was under attack. My world was pulled out from under me in ways I have no idea where to start with recovery.
A few days later, our planned studio interview took place after landing in Cape Town. I had the pleasure of sharing the back stories of the songs from my album “Something I Used To Wear” with Paul Playdon on Heart FM – a DJ and radio station that have supported my career to no end.

We also delved into my journey of performing and living in twelve countries to finally land in a country that has offered an abundance of everything. It is sad to see what is going on, how our Gulf of music, events, F&B industry and people are suffering.
Through this time, the support my family and friends showed warmed, then broke my heart, especially upon departure. However, the music from this album means even more as I learnt how much my country is supporting me, even if I live abroad.
Thank you for giving me so much time to share these songs, stories and care how my career has mapped out.
Now back in Dubai, I pray and hope for better days ahead and peaceful decision-makers moving forward. Already missing performing on stage so much.
