Morning….!
It’s not often I sit down and write just to you…but HerTeam are so busy gearing up for the next gig, that I took the moment to share something really special from tonight…
So, have just arrived back from my gig at The Bedford tonight, which was pretty good but honestly could have been even better if I hadn’t of sung with bronchitis…so, whilst I was moaning at myself for underperforming…backstage, which is literally an office at the back of the pub, the lead Jon Roniger and guitarist Rico (www.jonroniger.com) bounced in after their truly fab set – I mean, these guys travelled all the way from Edinburgh to Balham today…just to play…So at 21:45 when the rest of us were playing our 1st set, these guys were filling up with petrol in Birmingham!!! They’re from San Francisco on tour and when they started playing you could feel the ripple of their music completely change the atmosphere – quite sensational to be that focused after soo many miles…just a tad in awe!
So, it got me thinking that tonight was one of those nights…where it wasn’t about HerShow at all – it was about everyone who gets out there to do what they need to do to pay the bills but is also ultimately striving for something else whatever their passion.
And you know what? It’s okay to have a day where you are killing yourself to do what you need to and doing it with every inch left in your soul! Because there is nothing more satisfying than pursuing that goal…just to know…
So here’s my BIG UP to you…for all you do – and to remember it is always, always worth it!
