Gotta Let Go To Reach

So we’ve just wrapped up mixing Drown The Pain, now working on Gotta Let Go and Gonna Make This Right. Back in 2002 I wrote “Gonna Make This Right” whilst studying music at Brunel University. For the end of year performance exam, the lecturer and good friend, Frank Griffith, specifically said no original music can be performed. So we performed my song and got the highest mark! At the end of the performance Frank asked who the composer is, and I replied jokingly oh just some famous South African artist…

Teenage Dream

My childhood was filled to the brim with life on stage until a couple of years after moving to London I just lost my way. No auditions came through, the rejection letters from record labels kept coming and working as a singing-waitress was not a long-term career. So I guess I just put my music on a shelf. I half-heartedly dipped my head in the music world for about 6 years until a life-changing incident happened…

I Can’t Get No…Satisfaction!

Each day I like my mindset to be positive, no cloudy thoughts…this is the only way I can deliver a show and another reason I sleep a lot. I find that normal life can be such a distraction to achieving my daily stage goals and for what I am doing right now, it works. Raise your eyebrows and shake your heads all you like, that this may not be a realistic life I’m living, but my life has been a hard road traveled until now, so the hitchhike to the port to jump onboard and head out for sea is plain sailing…and everyday I feel the wind in my sails, just that little bit closer to my desert island of showmanship…NeverNeverland is ready and waiting for me, heehee!

LT Is Back On The Road

Landed a job singing in a band through an agency, http://www.el-live.com, that books musicians to perform all through Asia for a year or so. It’s early days for me…(still on probation, so trying to behave…HAHAHA!). At the moment I’m in Singapore playing in a band called MaXimum – http://www.facebook.com/maximumband – at Brix, Grand Hyatt Hotel. This is an incredible group of musicians that rock it out 6 nights a week regardless of anything…to me it feels like Friday everyday on stage!
