Current mood:blessed
Hi everyone
I’ve missed you so much I’m coming home, woohoo!
So if you haven’t been following my little status updates via Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, etc…well the shows abroad have been awesome!
It’s been an amazing experience working with different band members from various cultures and backgrounds for the last eight or so months. Each have their own speciality and life as a live musician on a daily basis is always full of challenges. I am so very blessed to have had this opportunity :>
Along with that, I have developed some wonderful lifelong friendships with my audiences who show an unconditional support, which is just fab. I’ve had so many giggles with you. Thank you for all the good times.
Of course life, music, love and daily routines have their challenges but I’m learning to embrace these with stamina and a smile, even if that means the smile comes later :>
The best part of my shows was sharing it with my family who came to Penang, Malaysia over New Year’s Eve for 3 weeks. For the first time since I was in school, my dear Mommy saw her baby girl perform. It was also her birthday, so of course the audience and I sang Happy Birthday to her, whilst we whipped out the tissues for the tears of joy!!! My mom is my biggest inspiration, she is the first person I phone with the smallest catastrophe (normally in my head) and next biggest milestone I’ve achieved. She’s my best friend and I can share anything with her and she tells me what’s what, even when I stamp my feet and get that stubborn Theunissen frown!!! My Mom also was offered a record contract at a young age but my Granddad turned down the label as she was only fifteen – I hope to make it up to her with my success one day (SOON)! My brother was also here and they too encourage me in many ways. My brother especially has always pushed me to be better, stronger and go for Gold. He’s seen me perform since I was little and come to many of my shows in London, so it was good to for him to see me years later too. Thank you for a stunning time, love you xxx
During this time, my other family members and friends have always shown such support through it all, thank you so much, you make days brighter and lighter :>
So I have no news on what I’m planning for 2010 yet…just to rest as it’s been a long time away from home (although I may just be gone again soon, heehee!).
Happy New Year to you and may you always see the silver/gold/platinum lining…it’s going to be a good year for sure.
Here’s to the last two shows at GSpot, GHotel in Penang, Malaysia – Leonard the keyboard player says “Let’s burn some tyres, guys”!
Thank you to Spunk Unit, Cool Cats, Music for Asia, XBBTV, GHotel and everyone I met along the way :>
Thank you for the pom poms of support always :>
Lotsa love and see you soon
