The last memories of my original shows were 2016 in Cape Town and 2019 at Dubai Opera House…been too long and definitely focused on more of these! I really mean it when I say thank you, because you listened to my stories in song, then you listened a few times more and then you told me how each song resonated with you. That alone makes my day. Thank you.
And here we are another year later. Was it all bright and shiny lights? It never is. There are so many tears, endless all-nighters and plenty of sweat behind the scenes of making any of this happen. That means pushing through a lot of self-doubt, obstacles and life. But my career in this world is to make the world a better place in and with music. My sparkle is yours alone.
This album was tough to release because I have been through so much, especially this year; and there’s only so much the heart, head, body and soul can take. When I found myself in a place where I was burnt-out and light was kinda dim unable to hold the torch upright…I stopped to fix it. I embraced therapy, I am studying, I am removing people that are not wholesome in my life and I am surviving. If we just make it to the next sunrise, we can try again – no matter the odds, right?! Not everyone will love what you do or who you are, but to the ones that do, please always remember having a circle you can trust, that is the only thing that counts. I am so grateful to my tribe of unending love, support and honesty I am surrounded by. You matter to me and you count. You are my light, thank you for lighting my path up, to come back home to me.
So before the lights go up and it is curtain call again, from me to you, I wish you a peaceful, Merry Christmas and beautiful year ahead.
