The story behind “My Fire”…
2015. Not my favourite year in the slightest.
I was not a priority. Sometimes second, sometimes third, sometimes fourth and mostly not featured at all. Not just with work colleagues but in close relationships, and even with family. 2015 – I am not a fan.
However.
Goldin being a golden. I am one to rise, one to stand tall. So I did finish lifelong goals like my book and 2nd indie songwriting album. The more I empowered myself, the more the positive began to flow in abundance.

It was at this time that David Gresham sent me Sarah de Courcy’s catalogue of songs. Her songwriting is contagious, I actually asked for all of her songs! And David said, “now, now my girl, we can’t take all of them!”
It was September last year when I first heard “My Fire”. The vocal was epic, Sarah has a beautiful voice, herself. I knew I had to work very hard on creating magic on this record. The more I rehearsed, the more it became mine. To deliver, you have to own it. It was a massive bundle of joy hearing the label, songwriter and publisher give the go ahead. As it is an immense amount of pressure waiting on this great team of people to show the thumbs up.
Mostly I was ecstatic to be able to share this work with you, my GoldinFans. I am not just talking about the voice and music. I am talking about the message.
- This is a song for those who no longer want to be an option.
- For those that have a voice, that have a talent in whatever industry, that deserve credit.
- To inspire people to fulfil their dreams, letting no one stop them.
- Give faith to say you can do it. Each person has a spotlight, it just takes courage to take the necessary steps to shine.
So for anyone who has had a brother or boss or best friend or wife saying they are less than they are. Stand up and be all you are. This is YOUR fire :>
