Current mood:adored

Hi there

Last night’s gig was just fab! We’ll have some footage from the night too, so you can check out the band playing, so will let you know about that soon. Thank you to all who came down to see us :>

As I was saying yesterday, there’s been plenty going on in the last month.in the studio, backstage and on stage – so exciting times!

We’ve played two festivals…

* Gomstock 2008: http://www.thecompassesinn.co.uk/livemusic.html was a sunny day in the pretty village of Gomshall, Surrey where 250 or so locals sit in the garden by the shallow river the Tillingbourne (more like a stream). It’s a yearly mini festival and the proceeds are distributed to charities and think they raised about £2000. It was one of the first times our band had performed new songs too, so thank you for the warm response and also thanks to Miles Winter-Roberts, Santa’s Little Helper and Fiona for having us :> Shame we didn’t stay as we had a covers gig that night entertaining for the Aylesbury Festival, Hobbles on Cobbles Aftershow Party.

* WeyFest 2008: http://www.wefest.co.uk was a little rainy at The Rural Life Centre, but we were indoors…so lucky. This was a smaller space to play however the more uptempo tracks were definitelwelcomed and I can proudly say the band shook the building, baby! Thanks again to Vic Cracknell, for the last minute slot and who has been really supportive since we’ve met.

I did a solo performance down in Petersfield at The Square Brewery, thanks to Iain Martin from Stiff Promotions for putting me on, such a great night out. And yes of course I’ll still do solo performances, I do them every Sunday at the 15 Minute Club: http://www.myspace.com/15minuteclub!!! Just check http://www.myspace.com/lisatheunissen as to which venue I’m playing at and when.

Some of the band also went to check out the winners for the Guilford Brits Awards and it was fab hooking up with promoters, musicians and industry connections that night. As you know I was nominated for Best Solo Female Artist, but that award went to a very strong contender and deservedly so, Susie Clarke: http://www.myspace.com/susieclarke – well done honey! Photo’s from the night can be found on http://www.lmiphotography.co.uk/Events/Gallery/Guildford%20Brit%20awards/index.html or details at http://www.myspace.com/strangersonatrain.

But I must say that the highlight for this month for me has got to be our band’s showcase at The Pigalle Club. Thank you to Patrick Alan, Lady Carolle and Mark Lundquist for organising it and letting us do our thang!

So for the weekend, I’d like to leave you with something to share…One girl’s dream to share her songs. All you have to do is press the ‘share’ button and forward this to someone you wanna share it with whatever your reason:

..

And part of that sharing is me letting go of HerStory, I have finally finished the last chapter. It’s now all about sharing music, opinions, life and direction with Charlie, Pete, Jon, Jeremy and Laurence (the latter two are co-writers!) and whoever else joins our journey, as we go forward. The transition will be gradual but always know that my original intention is always there, to write from the heart and sing it like I mean it, even if stylistically things sound a little different from now on…

I hope you like the new stuff (it will take a while until you hear it, maybe catch a show in the meantime?), I hope you stay, you’ve been so brilliant supporting me over the years and I do not wanna lose you! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

LT, Charllie, Pete and Jon

XXX

PS Oh and I’ll probably still be the one writing you looong emails late at night, the guys are not volunteering for this part and well, you know how I love to natter…! Have a great weekend :>
