Interview

Infinity: Hi Lisa, thanks for taking the time to answer a few of our questions, we really appreciate it.

Goldin: Hi there Donovan, it’s a pleasure :> thanks for having me.

Infinity: Can you give our readers a brief history of Lisa Goldin?

Goldin: When I was studying music in London, I started to perform at various songwriting showcases, leading me to singing at a major festival called GuilFest in Surrey. I guess from there it kind of took off, London’s so brilliant for meeting who’s who! Played on a bill with Jesse J, Ed Sheeran, Scouting For Girls, and even met Rick Astley and introduced to Tiesto backstage in Cardiff! From there I travelled to Ibiza to sing with Barbara Tucker, perform for Diane Von Furstenberg in Beijing and stayed in Dubai singing there at their hot spots for a couple of years.

Infinity: What’s been your greatest highlight so far?

Goldin: I have been very blessed with great moments. For now my highlight has been working on the production for  our latest single “My Fire” with Sarah de Courcy (A&G Songs) and Ziggy Adolph (David Gresham Records). Radio, TV and fans are starting to get their teeth into it and that’s very special observing!

Infinity: Which other musicians do you admire and why?

Goldin: Absolutely love Alicia Keys! Seen her perform twice in London and her performance is flawless with songs that keep you smiling for days. Whether just on a grand piano singing or choreography with full band behind her…I just fall in love every time! Alicia really speaks to her audiences and connects.

Infinity: What do you consider as the essential elements of your music?

Goldin: Creating music that speaks to the heart and unites people with positive energy.

Infinity: How do you approach the song writing process? Do you write music with the live performance in mind?

Goldin: Wow, love this question! I always write from the heart, and there’s no real process other than an idea bursting onto paper or my keyboard. And yes, when I sit down to marry lyrics with keys, I literally go into performance mode, haha! I have to feel it, when it’s right, the energy soars!

Infinity: How has living in London, Ibiza and Dubai influenced the sound of Lisa Goldin?

Goldin: It’s been amazing! Started with jazz and blues, worked on soul, Motown, rock and then Pop, dance and a bit of hip-hop got hold of me :> It’s fab mashing these genres together…I think I finally found my voice after all of these mini-adventures, you know.

Infinity: What was it like working with Sarah deCourcy to co-produce your latest single “My Fire”?

Goldin: This record has been one of the most nervous-wrecking moments ever! It demanded all of my musicianship. When Head of A&R of David Gresham Records, Andrew Mitchley, sends through new potential collaborations I google and check out their songwriting. So when I looked up Sarah de Courcy, my heart stopped, properly! Hahaha! It’s been an honour working with a household name in the industry and I am very happy it worked out in the end. Every now I then Sarah likes my posts and my heart still jumps!

Infinity: Any loves, other than music?

Goldin: Cross-country running, squash and sailing for sports and a love of travel and exploring new places.

Infinity: If you could gather any musicians or musical groups to collaborate with, whom would that be?

Goldin: Prime Circle, Lira, Gangs of Ballet and loving Kwesta’s vibes!

Infinity: Do you have any upcoming projects to share with us?

Goldin: Between studio, I’m touring with Barnyard Productions #KillerQueen show for the next two months. It’s all kind of happening, for which I am very grateful :>

Infinity: Thanks again.

Goldin: Thank you!
