Current mood:happy
Hey it’s Lisa Theunissen here and that’s pronounced ‘Tennyson’…from South Africa originally but been here for just over 9 years. HerStory’s a collection of soulful tones and includes tales of love, life, the games we play, the tears we cry, the fun we have, people, what it takes to survive just being who you are…! But it’s music so you may interpret it into something else?!?!
What can we expect? Wow, what a question! I guess that it’s filled with lots of moving stuff, proud attitude to say who I am and boundless energy…I just hope you dig it!
What are your biggest achievements to date? Well…writing for the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters fourfour newsletter was my most recent success but just getting gigs back at places I’ve played and constantly receiving positive feedback from the audience in my mailing list keeps me thinking ‘it still rocks, all good’ – the little things, you know!
Any success stories? Just doing what I’m doing. It’s been a long journey and am improving day by day, gig to gig…just Ask Stu who runs the Aylesbury Showcase as he has known me from when I first started out – thanks for believing hon!!! When I hear HerSound on the radio then I will feel successful, for now it’s all about consistent hard work to reach the top 🙂
What are your plans for the future? Exposure in all the right spots, contacting lotsa industry people and get signed…then enjoy a career in the one place that feels like home…the stage!
What is your ultimate ambition? To be a super famous Singer-Songwriter and have the honour of singing HerStory to the world.
Is HerStory all about Lisa Theunissen? It is and isn’t – my secret!!! Anyway, music is about how it evokes you, relates to you and I wanna leave you the breathing space to do just that…so it’s a bit like marmite…you either love it or hate it or are indifferent to it! And I like to know what my audience thinks, sometimes it’s a guideline as to what does and doesn’t work – and although I may not always agree I do listen to TheirSay all the time 🙂 as without you…well that would be pretty pointless!!!
