Hi Everyone

Yes, performing as a live music artist is a career you have to work at constantly to stay on top. From keeping a flawless image to knowing your music inside out are vital. But without people to share, create and brainstorm ideas with…it can be a lonely road.

Relationships make up our everyday life. The more hands working towards the same goal, makes the workload light and fun! Not one person on stage can pull off our show alone. As long as I’m singing and twirling around…I’m not thinking about what chord to play or rhythm to play…but I know I can depend on everyone standing next to me, and vice versa. We put out a massive amount of energy each night to work the crowd…the same formula does not always work, every audience is different and we need each other as a band to figure out what it is that will be the magic every time. It’s not really a spoken thing, and that’s what makes it magical. Music is a powerful medium.

Offstage we have the support from our fans and the stability of our family, friends and loved ones. Fans don’t see the flaws, they just see the glossy picture we paint because that is what we want them to see. However, our families, friends and loved ones live with the whole picture…they know about our aching bones, croaky voices and homesick minds – they pull us through when we think we cannot go on, they are the light when all we see is the dark of the night and they love us for who we really are. They understand why we are a million miles from home just singing our song, performing for a living…and our loved ones know our hearts belong to them.

Musicians are masters of creativity and bringing dreams to life…we have a vision and we need a whole lot of belief before we pluck up the confidence to go out and perform. The people we surround ourselves with are the ones that influence how we deliver each day, so it is important to keep negative out at all times.

I’ve been working abroad from destination to destination since May 2009 with a couple of trips home. Yes, it’s a long time away from the people in my life that believe in me but it is their non-stop thumbs up that gives me the strength to be all I am meant to be.

To any musicians starting their journey on the road or anyone who wants a little bit of inspiration to life on the road…my only advice is that consistency is key…persevere, persevere, and persevere…practice makes perfect!

Wishing you a lovely February overflowing with love! Do all you can, be all you’re meant to be and keep reaching for new heights.

With just 3 weeks left in Oman with Liquid Band performing at Safari Club, Grand Hyatt, Muscat…next up is…Xiu Bar at Park Hyatt in Beijing (http://xiubeijing.com)…woohoo!

Love, light & happiness
